DeMarini Baseball Bats
Striving to be the brand of choice for players regardless of skill and experience.
One of the keys in becoming a successful baseball manufacturer is to offer a wide variety of
baseball bats that are each made of different materials to suit different types of players. Some baseball bats are
easier to control than other bats at the cost of strength while more powerful bats are for the stronger players
that can handle the added weight.
One of the major brands that are found in online markets and sporting goods stores are the DeMarini
baseball bats. With several other major brands actively promoting their lineup of baseball bats as well as a few
more emerging brands, DeMarini clearly needs to stand out from the rest and just by looking at
their DeMarini baseball bats, it appears as if the company is progressing nicely.
Company Background
Ray DeMarini founded DeMarini Sports, Inc. back in 1989 and introduced the
high-tech softball bat. They didn't get much recognition until they introduced the double wall baseball bats which
led to lots of sales. They became even more recognized after Wilson Sporting Goods made the move to acquire
the company. Currently, they are researching new technologies to build and design better bats to stay in the
competition against Miken baseball bats and Easton baseball bats.
Different Size Baseball
Bats
DeMarini's website offers dozens of different baseball bats that have some flashy logos. Every bat
falls under one of the three categories laid out by the company according to age. There are several DeMarini youth
baseball bats offered to the youth which differ from other bats because they are built using the same heavy-duty
technologies that are applied to the baseball bats in the other two categories.
The next category is the Sr. Youth which consists of slightly heavier and longer models to help
build the skills of aspiring players. Many of the models available in this category are basically longer and
heavier versions of the youth baseball bats. There are a few models that are exclusive to the Sr. Youth and higher
category like the 2011 Vexxum -5 and Vexxum -10.
The top category is known as the Collegiate High School category where the most variety of DeMarini
baseball bats are being offered. In this category, you can find the heaviest versions of bats in the youth category
as well as a couple of wooden bats that are truly for the pros. Both the Pro Maple D110 and Pro Maple D243 have
classic designs along with some of the latest technologies that fully prepare people that are in advanced wood bat
leagues.
Common Technologies found in DeMarini Baseball
Bats
The technologies that DeMarini place within their baseball bats focus on all angles including
comfort, durability, and performance. On the durability end, players are guided by the DeMarini Rotation Index
which shows a numerical index on the handle which is supposed to remind the player to rotate the bat after a
successful hit.
Some other models like the Vendetta have a Composite Handle which combines both comfort and power
while Voodoo baseball bats have a two piece endcap that is specifically designed to reduce vibration and push
energy at the same time for added strength. For even extra comfort, the CF4 models are ideal for beginners because
they feature the Variegated Comfort Grip which is identified by their faded color.
Many of the models in all three categories also have an internal end-cap which is claimed to push a
Hub of Energy to the bat's sweet spot. Finally, the two wooden bats for the advanced wood bat leagues have a barrel
made of Canadian Hard Maple along with a composite handle and frame for balanced and durable feel.
As for the rest of the aluminum DeMarini baseball bats, do note of the materials that make up the
bat because they have different advantages over the other. For instance, the SC4 alloy which is exclusive to
DeMarini products makes the sweet spot bigger and boosts the overall strength by about 12%. The Vexxum which is
made of C6 composite material do not have the sweet spot benefit, but excel in having a longer hitting surface with
its Long Barrel technology.
Don't just look at the styles of the DeMarini baseball bats because they all look good in their own
right. Carry the bat yourself and give it a test swing to see if the materials are strong and comfortable enough
for you to handle without sacrificing power.
